About Stellar M22 IPL Treatment

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, and IPL treatment is a popular non-invasive cosmetic procedure used for various dermatological and aesthetic purposes. IPL treatment is considered a versatile and comprehensive treatment due to its ability to treat a wide array of skin concerns using various wavelengths and technologies. Who is suitable for M22 Stellar IPL Treatment?

Male and female who is bothered by skin discolouration, hyperpigmentations, and other visible signs of ageing.

The Stellar M22™ OPT® advantages:

  • Control pulse shape by equalizing energy distribution over the entire pulse or sequential pulses.
  • Gentler, more comfortable, patient-friendly procedures, with lower effective fluences.
  • High peak power, shorter pulses – optimal for photorejuvenation and treatment of benign pigmented lesions.
  • Advanced OPT will also allow determining the specific fluence per sub-pulse when using multiple- sequential pulsing (MSP™), for fine- tuned treatment settings.

You are not a suitable candidate for M22 Stellar IPL Treatment if you:

  • Have active infections
  • Have dysplastic nevi
  • Have tattoos on treated areas
  • Have significant concurrent skin conditions or any inflammatory skin
  • conditions.
  • Have active cold sores, open lacerations, or abrasions.
  • Have chronic or cutaneous viral, fungal or bacterial diseases.
  • Were exposed to sun or artificial tanning during 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Have a history or concurrent condition of skin cancer or pre-cancerous lesions at the treatment areas.

You will require a consultation with your respective doctor at Yuchi Medical before having a M22 Stellar IPL Treatment if you:

  • Have bleeding coagulopathies.
  • Have keloid scarring.
  • Have herpes simplex; treatment can trigger a herpes outbreak; prophylactic antiviral therapy
  • discretion.
  • Have systemic Lupus Erythematosus or Porphyria.
  • Have immunosuppressive diseases, including AIDS and HIV infection.
  • Have uncontrolled systemic diseases such as diabetes, epilepsy or congestive heart disease.
  • Have photosensitivity in general, or any sensitivity to the sun that causes a rash or an allergic reaction.
  • Have hormonal disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, unless under control.
  • Have had gold therapy.
  • Are having or have had radiation therapy
  • Have prior use of collagen, fat injections or other methods of skin augmentation.
  • Are taking anticoagulants; avoid usage of anticoagulants.
  • Are taking immunosuppressive medications.
  • Are taking herbal supplements, perfumes or cosmetics that may affect sensitivity to light.
  • Oral Isotretinoin (such as Accutane).

Best Practices

Before Treatment

  • No sun exposure for two weeks prior to treatment
  • Avoid exfoliation skincare routines such as acid scrubs, exfoliation, etc., for two weeks
  • Avoid Oral Isotretinoin (such as Accutane) 12 months before treatment.
  • Avoid retinol for 6 months before treatment. 
  • If you have skin that is prone to acne and inflammation, you need to make an appointment in advance for a face-to-face consultation and communicate with the doctor whether you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.
  • It is recommended to have HydraFacial or hydrating facial one week before the treatment or on the treatment day to boost the treatment results. 
  • Avoid having treatment during the menstruation period.
  • The overall operation time is usually 1 hour (5 minutes for cleaning, 30-45 minutes for operation, 15 minutes for hydration mask)
  • It is recommended to apply hydration mask for a 7 days period before and after the treatment.
  • To limit sun exposure on the day of treatment, we recommend bringing a cap/hat and a pair of sunglasses. 

After Treatment

  • Avoid bathing and face with hot water within 24 hours, and avoid rubbing your face vigorously
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week and apply sunscreen with SPF50 or higher every day
  • Do not rub your skin with irritating skin care products such as vitamin C, acid or A alcohol and scrub products within a week
  • se the medical moisturizing mask once a day in the first week after surgery, and then use the medical mask 3-4 times a week
  • Use mild cleansing products and medicated skin care products
  • Mineral cosmetics can be used

Yes. Makeup can be worn 24-48 hours after treatment.

Side effects are rare with M22 Stellar IPL Treatment. The common side effects after the treatment are flushed skin, the darker appearance of brown pigmented spots, and more visible capillaries. However, these immediate side effects will subside within a week.
